Tuesday Tip!

Many women think false eyelashes are for celebrities and broadway, but anyone can wear false eyelashes.  I love using them on brides to give a natural, but defined eye.  Here are a couple tips for application!

COLOR
If you wear warm tones and nudes, get brown natural looking lashes.  A good example of natural looking false eyelashes is Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron) on Glee.  She is using a half set (the outer lashes only), which gives a natural look of very flirty, long lashes.  If you want a bolder look or wear black eyeliner, buy black lashes.

COUNT
Lashes come in full sets, clumps, or individual lashes.  I would recommend the full set for beginners because individual lashes take time and skill to apply.

APPLICATION
1. Apply your eye makeup as normal, leaving your lash application for the last step.
2. Measure the lashes for your eye.  The lashes should start where your natural lashes begin and end half a centimeter or so before your natural lashes end.  If you put false lashes all the way to the end of your natural lashes, it creates a drooping effect.
3. Apply a THIN layer of eyelash glue (can be clear, black, or waterproof depending on your preference) to the eyelashes.
4. Place the eyelashes on top of your natural lashes as close to the lash line as possible. Hold in place for several seconds.
5.  Mascara is optional, but sometimes a coat after application can help blend your natural lashes with the false set.

VOILA!  Divalicious!

I buy most of my lashes from Sally Hansen, but they can be found at any beauty supply store.
